Daniel, a Servant of the Lord, is highly esteemed. One would think that being in the good graces of God, life would be like pie. But, Daniel has been given the task of frightening dreams so much so that in chapter ten he states that he has not eaten, drank, nor cleanse his body in three weeks. It appears that he is actually in a state of depression. But, we know that when much is given, much is required. God has given Daniel an awesome power to interpret dreams and the ability to see visions of the future. However, it now feels more like a curse as Daniel struggle daily to survive his premonitions.
In this dream, Daniel is standing near the Tigris river when he and he only sees a Man dressed in white linen, his body the color of topaz. He had eyes are like fire (flaming torches) and arms and legs of bronze. The Man begins to speak but Daniel falls into a deep sleep. This Man helps Daniel to his weakened hands and knees and from there Daniel, trembling, comes to a full stance. The Man tells Daniel not to be afraid as God has heard his prayers and seen his humbleness. This Man has been sent to Comfort Daniel's but was detained and he was dealing with another matter in Persia. The Man tells Daniel he has come in Peace and asks Daniel to be strong for he must return to the previous matter. However, before he leaves Daniel, he will tell him what is written in the book of truth.
When we feel lost, weakened, confused, depressed, afraid, or feel we cannot continue the Journey (God's Purpose), God sends help so that we may have assistance in carrying the burden. He provides a time of relief to allow His children gather strength to complete the task. If God brings us to it...He will see us through it!
His Holy Spirit is our COMFORTER!
