I want to share briefly with you what the word "Mercy" means to me. More importantly, God's Mercy. One of my favorite Gospel songs is Your Mercy by a female group named Blessed. I cry every time I hear it as the song is so powerful. It speaks of how we (God's children) are not worthy of anything He gives us. When we live as Christians, falling by the wayside every now and again, we may feel joy is knowing that while we are imperfect, we are giving GOD our Best. But, what about those of us who know that we can do or give better service. Those of us (myself) who know that when I want to do right, I maliciously do wrong. When we give it into the Flesh/Temptation, although God has provided a way out, we purposely choose not to take it.
Jesus, Oh' How I Love to Call on Your Name, intercedes and speaks to our Heavenly Father, once again, asking that He does not give us what we deserve for our Sins. Grace is giving us chance, after chance, after chance, after chance, and after chance. But, Mercy is looking the other way while we do our dirty deeds......We ask, plead and pray for help. And, the worst part of all is that He sends that help, through the one that can and will rescue us from the bondage of wickedness. The Holy Spirit has shown me more than once what to do to and where to go to flee so that I may be obedient. But, I throw that path of freedom away. I know that He that lives in me (All Christian Believers) is stronger than any temptation that I/we come against. But, we say "no" to the Holy Spirit and "Yes" to our selfishness....to our horrible, demanding flesh.
I love Jesus and I know that before I commit any sinful act, He knew I would do it. Yet, while He died for that sin and others to come, by Soul pitifully weeps at the disappointment and hurt at how I grieve the Holy Spirit. Jesus asks for Mercy from our Father time and time again. How many more times with God look the other way as He knows Sin is detrimental to our Christian growth? If we continue to "give in" how will we be able to "stand" when the end comes?
Satan is there constantly reminding me/us of how unworthy we are of the Love God has for His Creation and how He shows us/me that Love in every breath I take.
All Fellow Christians, I beseech your Prayers for Victory over the Flesh, Mind, Heart (as this is where Sin takes seed), and Spirit. I know longer want to weep nor cause my Father to weep as I do things that does not bring Him Glory. Many people ask "What is My Purpose." Our Purpose is any and everything that Brings God GLORY!
I, too, will pray for you.
As I strive to say Yes to Jesus and No to the Flesh....In the meantime, Thank You my Savior for your Enduring Mercy!
