Today I want to briefly touch on the Great Things of God. Well, you might ask, "How can anyone be brief on the wonderful works of Our Lord?" Truly, that cannot be done, but I want to take a brief moment to share with you what God has done for me. Let's see, just this morning, He woke me up from a restful sleep. He allowed me to be in the right frame of mind to see, feel, and breathe in all of the Blessings that are around me and, of Blessings that I am not even aware of at this moment. I woke up with Jesus on my mind because He has accepted me just as I am and died for me while I was in Sin. He and I have a "personal" relationship that carriers me through the day and helps me along my Christian Journey. I cannot put into words His love for me and the NEED I have for HIM. Because of Jesus, I do not worry, not for long, about anything as I know He is my Provider, Protector, Lawyer, Doctor, Companion, Sister, Brother, Father, Mother, Health, and Strength.. He is My Air, Water, Sun, Moon, Joy, Comforter...He is My Life.
For those of us who know that Jesus is REAL, each of us has a story or testimony we can tell or share. That one moment when you knew, with every fiber in our being, that only God could have done what took place in our life at that moment. My moment was when I saw my Dad. He had being going through a difficult time, struggling with drugs. When I was growing up, He and I were not close. But, after I accepted Christ and my dad too, we worked on trying to mend our turbulent relationship. During the course of our father and daughter building, he would reach out to me every so often. He was a Truck Driver living in another state. There came a time when I did not hear from him. One month had gone by and then two, three, four months had come and gone with no word from him. Naturally, I became worried and had been praying to God that He would protect my Dad and keep him from the perils of drug use and other dangers.
I had asked God to show or give me a sign that he was okay.
One morning I was on my way to work and was taking my usual route. I was about to exit off a side road onto major interstate but had to wait for oncoming traffic to pass. While I was waiting at the yield sign (yeah, people yielded back in those days), there was a tractor trailer passing the exit where I was waiting. Guess what....YES, it was my dad! He saw me smiled and blew his truck horn! God answered my Prayer as it was He and ONLY GOD that could have brought my dad and me together at that point at the time and place. A full six months had passed and I had not heard from him. My dad lived in NC and drove locally. But, not that day. That Day, he was meant to be passing that exit while I waited to see him and know that God had him in the palm of His hands.
I cry as I share this wonderful story with you all. My Dad is now with Jesus and I miss him. But, I do find great comfort in knowing that he is in the Best place in and out of this world...Lol
Praise God. To Him be the Glory.
This is my Jesus Moment. What is Yours?
